Chris Burton
Chris graduated from Newcastle University in 2005 and in August of the same year started working as a Vocational Trainee Dentist at Middleton St George Dental Care. After two further years of being an Associate Dentist, he purchased the practice in 2008.
Chris is passionate about quality, preventive and bespoke dentistry and excellent customer service, which is reflected in the practice mantra, ‘dental health for life’. Chris heavily invests in his postgraduate education, which has led him to various centres of excellence all over the world, a synopsis of which is detailed below:
- Certificate in Restorative Dentistry (2009)
- Platinum Accredited Invisalign Practitioner
- Member of the Royal College of Surgeons and the College of General Dentistry
- Four trips to San Francisco (2011-12) to train in Cosmetic & Restorative Dentistry with the California Center for Advanced Dental Studies
- Attended various Dental Implant courses in London, Nottingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Lisbon and Seattle
- Winner, 2015 Aesthetic Dentistry Awards
- Finalist in 2 categories, 2016 Aesthetic Dentistry Awards
- After 18 months and over 250 hours of further study, completed the arduous 9-module curriculum and graduated from the Kois Center in Seattle in 2017
- Finalist, Dentist of the Year North & Central 2020
- Currently tutors on the Implant Inculcate Course at Waterfront Dental Education, Newcastle.
Chris has a special interest in Restorative, Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry, and has been involved in the placement and/or restoration of over 1000 dental implants since 2011. He continues to invest in the latest technology for the benefit of more predictable treatment outcomes and better patient comfort, including a 3D cone-beam CT scanner, 3D digital intraoral scanners for impression-free dentistry and a 3D-printer.
He maintains his training with regular trips to Seattle for the latest updates in evidence-based dentistry at the annual Kois Center Symposium. In order to further his microsurgical training, he began the curriculum at the Hurzeler/Zuhr Academy in Munich in September 2022.
Something you may not know about Chris is that he has Spatial Sequence Synaesthesia (look it up!).
